RP Guide: The Warrior

The Warrior is a class most consider to be easy to role-play. We would beg to differ. During our time here as staff we have noticed numerous role-playing issues when it comes to Warriors, either due to misinformation or just plain ignorance. We will attempt to fill in the blanks on how-to role-play a warrior

1.) When inside a tavern or other building, disarm yourself. When you sit in the tavern holding a two handed sword you look like your going to cause trouble. So unless you actually want to look like that, its best to sheathe your weapons.

2.) Forced role-play, forced role-play is emoting things such as *slides the dagger out of his sleeve and cuts the mans throat before he can react*. This is not acceptable. Role-playing such as that is totally unfair as it negates all mechanics and doesn't give the other person a chance to respond. You can do other things that do not kill someone, however, and still give them a chance to respond. In example: *holds a dagger to his back/throat*, *punches him in the face*, *attempts to pick him up*, *throws a bottle towards him*, etc..

3.) Healing. Hit points on Requiem are not just a measure of your physical strength and ability to take damage. They also represent your ability to dodge, parry, and block. One stab to a vital area of the body will kill a person instantly, while this shard does have magic that doesn't mean the human body can regenerate or stick some cloth on a wound and be magically healed. So, when you are using the healing skill during combat, you are not running around placing bandages on your wounds with your hands full, it is just a mechanical system to represent that stamina. That means when you are inevitably knocked unconcious you won't normally wake up covered in gashes and scars, or head wounds. You'll wake up with a couple very damaging wounds. Anything that makes you lose conciousness is a deep and dangerous cut. At that point one would be advised to seek medical attention immediately.

5.) RPing in combat. Make sure if you are doing this that you say things that apply. If you are fighting an ettin, don't emote things like *decapitates it* or *stabs it in the eye* since the ettin is about twice your height and you can't reach it very well with your longsword. Just use common sense.
